So i’m sitting here in the arcon at the Kuta Beach Club, our home for the last 5 days. It’s about 1,000,000 degrees outside and as usually everyone is scattered everywhere. If you haven’t been to Kuta before you would be amazed at how much there is to do it about a 2km radius from where you are staying. Walking down the streets is always a laugh as people are constantly heckling you to buy the goods they have in their stalls and sometimes things they don’t even have, just to get your attention. Walking down a typical strip in Kuta you will generally be asked a list of these things Bintang singlet? Short? Bintang? Mushroom? And the odd call for the famous or should i say infamous, “Jiggy Jig”!
The other similar calls you might get are, my friend, MATE! How much? Even when you haven’t asked for anything. Our favourite old girls down the beach like to say “Come on son! I smack your bottom!” Drink of choice for the first 4 days was this amazing drink that is called MIX MAX. This is extremely similar to a vodka cruiser except are about 15,000 which is about $1.50 Aussie. The other upside, not that you need one is that they taste like cordial. The majority of us have stopped consuming this beverage as most of us have being pooping whatever colour drink we have been drinking, i’m pretty sure this can;’t be good for you.
So so so so many stories have already happened not many that i can disclose though. One story that will get an vague showing is that of the great night when Migalo (the great white whale) was slayed in the pool, lets just say after that not many people have been in there for awhile……….
From this point on, the beast that is called Bali devoured me and my 7 mates……
(This is the great forgotten Bali blog, nothing has been altered, it is fresh from KUTA….. 4 months late. Unfortunately it took this long to regain brain cells to remember I wrote this.)
The CiS was in full force on the weekend of the great Noosa Triathlon, as our athletes penetrated the many events that were on offer. We had stellar performances in the Noosa Bolt with our new addition to the team winning his consecutive victories. The performances in the Noose eyeline swim by J.Lav was definitely one of the most outstanding parts of the weekend for me. With minimal training due to laziness he was able to execute an amazing swim only being beaten by a few girls. Though that could still be deliberated. Finally in the premier event, the Noosa Triathlon we had amazing performances from athletes such as Ryan Fisher, Josh Amberger and of cause Moo Moo Matt Carlsson. If only you didn’t cramp up, we understand how hard it must be for a baby cow to ride a bike.
Exams at the CiS residence are the biggest hindrance on general fun and life. The one known as white panda, more commonly called Clint. Becomes a hermit, recluse in these weeks of extreme information storage. The once friendly, cuddly beast is transformed into a grunting goblin type creature who spends his time in the dark study environment which has more of a resemblance to that of a rape dungeon. Fortunately for him and more importantly the other CiS members, in 24 hrs he will have finished his exams and subsequently finished his degree in engineering. So on that note congratulations C.J. J
The final part of this blog will be examining the Pre Bali Knupp. Now as many of you may be thinking what the hell is a “Knupp”, well to be totally honest i have no idea! That will have to be answered by Anthony McSweeney. It’s just another one of his catchy words he pulls out of his ass from time to time. As i don’t have an exact definition of what a “Knupp” is i will try and explain what it means in the context of the Pre Bali. On the 23rd of November the maiden voyage of the CiS crew will board a flight to their current ultimate destination of BALI. This is where, for 7 days dreams will come true and memories will be made. The excitement of the anticipation of this event has been enveloping all of which who are to attend it for the past 6 months. Now with the plane flight imminent you could almost cut the tension with a knife! So to release this pressure we have once again organised a Pre Bali send off, this will be a warm up event preparing us for what we must do in the coming days of our trip. The CiS motto of ‘work hard, play hard’ will be on exposé as we will rock Bali like it has never been rocked before. Fortunately there is only 8 of us who will be attending the trip, this is quite lucky as the attendance of one more individual would have made us the Bali 9 and we all know how that story plays out.
CiS OUT!
xoxo

Firstly we would like to welcome the newest athlete to the CiS, Collis Birmingham. Luckily for us the VIS didn’t have much to offer him so he took the leap which resembled that of stepping over a small puddle to the CiS with ease. Now to more serious matters, we have been down at our exclusive CiS Noosa training facitlity at Tea Tree Bay. Situated at the southern end of Hasting st, next to the National Park it is a perfect place to swim, ride, and Chris Mc Cormack.
Now that the name has been dropped, today we were fortunate enough to meet Chris Mc Cormack 2 x World Ironman Champion and previous world triathlon champion. This was thanks to our friend Josh Amberger’s connections within the tri world. We shared stories over coffee at Le Monde’s Cafe, followed by a run through the coastal trails of Noosa National Park. To top this off we saw a dolphin swimming gracefully around Noosa’s shores and had a perfect Aussie BBQ accompanied by Benny Saint and newly founded CiS member Collis Birmingham and their 2 ladies.
Throughout the week have lived off the natural resources the land has provided. This began with a yabby session off the river where we caught around 60 yabbies. On the lines we reeled in 4 whiting and 1 flathead. The Green curry that the berg created, complimented the fish well.
So far training has been going well with the three of us all getting some good session done this week. Nothing too tough as we all have races this weekend which should be exciting to watch and even more exciting to race in. Jamie will be racing the 1 km open water swim on the Friday afternoon, which he will hopefully dominate. Having some course knowledge should help him get that upper hand on his competitors not to mention he is unbreakable! Then we have Josh and I both competing in the Noosa Tri though we will be in different races. Hopefully Josh will have a smashing race as he seems to be in some fine….maybe unbreakable form.
Another unbreakable effort is to the Nike team, they have set up a stall to sell some product and try and break the monopoly on the triathlon scene which has been dominated by aasics for the last few decades. So keep an eye out for the yellow “WE RUN NOOSA” Nike shirts and head down to the van across the bridge from the sheriton to check out the amazing shoes Nike currently has to offer. Everyone should GET AMONGST IT!! Or should i say JUST DO IT!
Finally just to wish everyone good luck for the weekend, go out there and enjoy it!
Peace
Unbreakables xoxo

The 23rd of July was a day and night to remember but how much can we actually recall, the answer to this question will forever plague our minds. The CiS facilities were used to the most extreme limit as like ourselves it is unbreakable. The night was lit up in flames under the light of the stars of heaven. If you can count how many stars are up there then you will then, and only then realise how unbreakable we are. Like the words of the most unbreakable man ever to live said “A rooster crows only when it sees the light. Put him in the dark and he’ll never crow. I have seen the light and I’m crowing “ Muhammad Ali. For us we are the light we see, we crow for ourselves, as we know who is our inspiration; and that is who stares back at us in the mirror.
For everyone who attended we hope you had a glimpse, if only for a few hours what it means to be unbreakable and to live at such world class facilities. We are unbreakable but we constantly draw on strength given to us from that of our friends and family and we will always be thankful for that, so we hope you enjoyed yourself and thank you for attending Jamie’s 21st.
It was a hard decision for all the CiS boyz to pull out of their major euro track trip to stay in OZ for Jamie’s 21st but it had to be done as this was a once in a lifetime activity while the track circuit and a chance to qualify for world champs only comes round ever 2 years.
A big shout out to MONSTER ENERGY DRINKS for their great tasting drinks at the party. If there was ever an inanimate object to be an unbreakable it would be a MONSTER can.
Also we would like to congratulate Mr Nowill, Yoharn, Twisty and GG for their great efforts on the weekend it was truly an amazing run by you all.
Final note to our newly founded competition the Grimsey boys and NIS crew, not that you can call them that, because it isn’t a competition when the unbreakable’s are involved, “If they can make penicillin out of mouldy bread, they can sure make something out of you.”
Muhammad Ali.
The last couple of weeks have been quite busy for the boys at CiS with a few of the athletes competing at the Gold Coast Marathon Festival. With one of our most prized athletes temporarily out of action Jamie, a.k.a Piney, a.a.k.a Snuggle Muffin. A spot had suddenly opened up on the intraining team for the most prestigious 10km race in Australia and dare i say the world, the Gold Coast Southern Cross University 10km. With already 2 athletes ready to compete myself (Jackson) and Mat Carlsson, who considers himself a member of the AAS but in fact has now joined ranks with the CiS “I feel like the CiS will be able to help me reach my potential as a developing athlete.” (Carlsson, 2011). That was a direct quote by the way.
Anyway we were on the search for another runner, so we turned to our favourite red head, the one, the only, Thomas the tank, TK, Tom Kennedy! Luckily for us Tom came through with the goods and after a slow and steady alcohol supported recovery from his surgery he showed some signs of coming form with a solid run. The most exciting result from the weekend was Mat Carlsson’s great run, smashing his previous PB and recording a very fast 32min something 10km. With lots of training that can still be done this shows some impressive potential and will make for some action packed next 6 months.
On a final note, the CiS and it’s athletes do not like to name call, we try to be a fair, unbiased sporting institute, but we will have to call out a certain group. They know who they are, they are what some people, mainly those of the ages between 3 and 10 would call COPYCATS! Later in life between the ages 10 and 17 they would be called HOMOS! But in the real world they would be called FRAUDS! This people, sorry i mean FRAUDS, use the ideas of others for their own advantages. They steal, the well thought up ideas of innocent and hard working Australians and Portuguese. For these FRAUDS we wish you the best of luck in your endeavours but all we ask is that you remember that nothing will ever beat the original. Sure they made many of copies of the mona lisa but they will never be as expensive or as prestigious as the ORIGINAL!!!!
On a happier note

Breaking news, The Unbreakable’s have made a critical move From WHIS to CIS ‘Clayfield Institute of Sport’. The Team Founded By Jackson Haigh and Jamie Laverty have now reached out for further potential increasing the team to 5. New athletes include - Swimmer/ Triathlete Clint Jones, Runner / Token Redhead Tom Kennedy and the newly founded member, brother to Tom Kennedy and our Personal Masseuse , Codie ‘The Gentle Giant’ Grimsey. Codie’s Win at Byron Bay, partially Intoxicated secured his place in the team. (Codie has agreed to give each member 5% of his winnings).
Unbreakables have recently been threatened against the AAS ‘Aspley Academy of Sport’. Mat Carlson, who can be identified through similarities to that of a baby cow, is head of the AAS accompanied by Sam Schofield. Both can be seen below.

What is unbreakable? The more we live the more we realize how much we define unbreakable. You don’t have to look in the dictionary to see what unbreakable means, or what invincible, courageous, or incredible means. You can just look at us. We stand in the mirror everyday just to remind ourselves of what unbreakable means.
Currently we’re training at altitude in the Wavell Heights Institute of sport (WHIS). This is an elite institute as being unbreakable is the only way of being admitted. Activities undertaken in the last couple of weeks have been memorable. Firstly team love shack watched ‘JUST GO WITH IT’ last night. All we can say is perfect, and if a movie could be unbreakable this would be it. Adam Sandler and the sexiness of Jennifer Aniston completed the day. On top of this we attended the Mooloolaba triathlon Festival. The boys who competed killed it! Special mention goes to Fisher for finishing 2nd in the elite race, and Speechly for breaking his elbow, although you broke it, the pictures are unbreakable! The open mens team, Featuring Codie Grimsey and Thomas ‘The Tank Engine’ Kennedy won by a clear margin. Less we forget Jacko’s incredible swim in his triathlon, you dont realize how unbreakable someone is until you witness a real unbreakable pushing the limits. All that can be said is… CHEA BOII!! MATTY Carlsson, what can we say, you probly would have won.
The Unbreakable’s have a new founded member. This member is RIDGY, our new clothing brand for running. The Gear is bright and stands out, get it in ya!
Unbreakable run for the week: Today i did a long run at UQ on my own whilst Jackson had already run this morning. I ran comfortable for 90% of the way but then felt the milk coming through that I had for lunch. I pushed through to the end of my run and luckily found a toilet. However I sat down and an insanely huge huntsman spider jumped on my hand then ran up into the toilet roll. So I left and wasn’t going to mess with him. If i had of run any further i think i may have end up like this guy »

Tri Dogs have been training hard, Josh Burgerman and the boys showed me the secret Samford and Dayborough loop. The 3 hour ride killed me, but being unbreakable, i had to push on with the boys. Team ‘Love Shak’ at the WHIS have been cycling, running and swimming consistently. Results should prevail!

To run, or not to run. To swim, or not to swim. To ride, or not to ride. To dope, or not to dope. Every day we contemplate, and procrastinate as we are faced with these questions. In the unbreakable’s world doping is never an option, it’s very deceptive, and if we were caught with it in London it could break us emotionally. However, life is a Merrigo round, there are ups and downs and smiles and frowns. For the unbreakable’s we are always up, and never frown. We dream big, but never bigger then we can achieve. We train hard, but never harder then we can train. We eat food, but never more then we can eat, we breathe air, but never more than we need. And we take pain, more than anyone else can take. If anyone wants to beat us they’re going to have to bleed to do it.
